Learn SAT Math Free: 14 Video Lessons, in the Order to Watch Them

Short answer. You can learn all of SAT Math free on video, in three steps: the 24 concepts the test expects you to know (one 45-minute lesson), then the hardest questions in each domain, then full Bluebook practice tests solved question by question after you take them yourself.

What it takes. About 13 hours of video across 14 lessons, all free on the Sigma Prep YouTube channel, watched more than 1.8 million times. This page puts them in the order to watch them.

Most SAT Math videos are either too long (a full "course" that re-teaches middle school) or too random (one trick, no plan). Here is every lesson on the channel in the order that actually builds a score, with what each one covers and when to watch it.

Every video solves real SAT-style problems at test speed, with no filler and no slides. Desmos shows up a lot, because on the digital SAT it is often the fastest route, not a backup.

Step 1: The 24 concepts the SAT expects you to know

The digital SAT gives you a reference sheet with basic geometry formulas. Everything else, you are expected to walk in knowing. This lesson covers all of it: 24 formulas and concepts, each drawn out and then used on a real SAT-style question.

If a topic is new to you, do not watch it all in one go. Watch one domain, then open the formula page for each topic in it: the formula, when the SAT uses it, and a practice question. The video chapters on YouTube jump to each topic.

  • Algebra (starts at 0:39): slope-intercept form interpretation, parallel and perpendicular lines, no solution and infinite solutions, mixture problems.
  • Advanced Math (starts at 7:41): exponent rules, exponential to radical, factoring and FOIL, quadratics, quadratic interpretations, discriminant, exponential equations, transformations.
  • Problem-Solving and Data Analysis (starts at 18:39): unit conversions, percent change, statistics, standard deviation, probability, statistical inference.
  • Geometry and Trigonometry (starts at 33:40): angle relationships, similar figures, proportionality, volume and surface area, trigonometry, circles.

Step 2: The hardest questions in each domain

Once the concepts are in place, the points you are still losing are on the hard questions in Module 2. These four lessons cover the question types that show up on nearly every test and eat the most time. Pause before each problem, try it, then watch the solution.

LessonLengthWhat it covers
12 hardest Algebra questions30 minNo solution and infinitely many solutions, systems, and the word problems that hide a linear equation. Solved with Desmos.
20 hardest Advanced Math questions50 minQuadratics, exponentials, and function questions, including Desmos regression.
15 hardest Geometry and Trig questions59 minCircles with tangent lines, similar figures, and the trig setups that quietly eat your clock.
24 problems everyone gets wrong40 minA mixed set from all four domains: the Module 2 questions that separate a 650 from a 750.

Not sure which domain is costing you? The SAT Math topics list breaks down what each domain covers and how many questions it gets.

Step 3: Full Bluebook practice tests, solved after you take them

This is where most of the learning happens. Take an official Bluebook practice test timed, score it, then watch only the questions you missed or guessed on. Each walkthrough is a perfect 800 with every question solved in order.

TestLengthNotes
Practice Test 442 minThe best first test to review. The walkthrough post also has the full review method.
Practice Test 544 minSolved in about 35 of the 70 minutes, so you see where the time savings come from.
Practice Test 648 minOne of the harder Bluebook tests.
Practice Test 743 minA speedrun: fast, every Desmos trick shown.
Practice Test 855 minThe longest test walkthrough, with extra time on the trickier problems.
Practice Test 947 minAll 44 questions in order.
Practice Test 1048 minEvery shortcut and Desmos trick, with extra time on the hard ones.
Practice Test 1147 minThe one students call the hardest math section.

Never watch a walkthrough before taking the test. Once you have seen the questions solved, your score on that test stops meaning anything. If you are not sure which test to take next, see which SAT practice test is the most accurate.

Step 4: The 196 newest official questions

In August 2026, College Board added 196 new math questions to the official SAT Question Bank. All of them are solved in one long session, organized by domain, so you can skip to the one you are working on. Details and the domain-by-domain breakdown are in the August 2026 question bank post.

How to learn from a video instead of just watching it

Watching someone solve a problem feels like learning. Usually it is not, because you never had to come up with the first step yourself. Three rules fix that:

  • Pause before every solution. Give yourself the time you would have on the test (about a minute and a half) and commit to a first step, even a wrong one.
  • Write down the move, not the answer. For each problem you missed, write one line: what in the question should have told you what to do. That line is what transfers to test day.
  • Re-test within a few days. Do a fresh problem of the same type. If you cannot do it cold, watch again. If you can, move on.

The full method for reviewing a practice test is in how to review SAT Math mistakes so they stop repeating.

When videos are not enough

Videos teach the method. The score comes from doing enough fresh problems that the method is automatic. That is the part a YouTube channel cannot give you, and it is what Sigma Prep is for: 7,300+ SAT Math questions and 24 full-length Math tests modeled on Bluebook, with a short video solution on every question that goes straight to the method. It covers SAT Math only, not Reading and Writing.

The first full-length test is free: take a timed SAT Math practice test.

Common Questions

Yes. Everything the SAT Math section tests is covered in free video: the 24 concepts the test expects you to know, the hardest question types in each domain, and full walkthroughs of the official Bluebook practice tests. Add the free official practice tests in Bluebook and you have a complete program. What free resources run out of is fresh practice once you have used the official tests.

Learn the concepts first, then the hard question types, then use full-test walkthroughs only after taking each test yourself. Pause before every solution and try the problem first. Watching without attempting feels productive but rarely sticks.

Most students need one to two months of regular practice. The videos on this page add up to about 13 hours, but the time that moves your score is the practice in between: taking tests, reviewing misses, and redoing the question types you got wrong.

You do not need it, but you should learn it. Desmos is built into the digital SAT, and on many questions (systems, quadratics, regression, intersections) it is faster and safer than algebra. The lessons here show where it helps and where algebra is still quicker. See the Desmos tricks guide for the eight most useful moves.

No. Take the test timed first, score it, then watch only the questions you missed or guessed on. Once you have seen a test solved, your score on it no longer tells you anything.
