How to do these

Graph 2x+3y=6

  1. Set x = 0: 3y = 6, so y = 2.
  2. Set y = 0: 2x = 6, so x = 3.
  3. Join (0, 2) and (3, 0).

The answer is slope −23, y-intercept 2.

Where students go wrong

Reading A as the slope. In standard form the slope is -A/B, and the sign flip is where most of the wrong lines come from.
