How to do these

Find the slope through (2,3) and (5,9)

  1. Change in y over change in x.
  2. 9 - 3 is 6, and 5 - 2 is 3.

The answer is 2.

Where students go wrong

Subtracting in a different order on the top and the bottom. As long as both start from the same point it works; mixing them flips the sign.
