How to do these

Find the midpoint of (2,3) and (5,9)

  1. Average the x values: 2 and 5 give 3.5.
  2. Average the y values: 3 and 9 give 6.

The answer is (72,6).

Subtracting instead of averaging. Subtracting gives the distance across, not the middle. If your answer is not between the two points, something has gone wrong.
