Looking for a Magoosh SAT alternative for Math? Here is the short version: Sigma Prep costs the same $49 a month, but it is built only for Math, so you get far more of it: 24 full-length Math tests that mirror the official Bluebook tests (Magoosh has up to 3), 7,300+ Math questions, and a video solution on every single question. If you need Reading and Writing as well, Magoosh covers both and Sigma Prep does not. Prices and features below are as of October 2026, from each company's own site.

Sigma Prep is ours, so weigh that. We have tried to say where Magoosh is the better fit.

When Magoosh is the better choice

If you want one subscription for both sections, Magoosh does that at $49 and we do not. Its 200+ lessons are a good fit for a student starting from scratch who wants to be taught each topic before practicing it, and the $149 plan adds recorded classes.

When Sigma Prep is the better choice

If Math is what is holding your score back, you get far more Math for the same money. Three practice tests run out fast; with 24 that mirror the official ones question for question, every retake is a fresh measurement instead of a memory check. Every one of the 7,300+ questions has a video, and after each test you get a practice set built from the exact skills you missed. Our refund window is also twice as long.

The Magoosh score guarantee

Magoosh promises 100 points or your money back, but you only qualify if all of this is true, from their terms:

  • You scored 1350 or below on an official SAT taken before you started Magoosh.
  • That score is less than 5 years old.
  • You emailed that score report to them when you signed up.
  • You send your new score report if you fall short.

Students who have never taken the SAT are not eligible. Ours is simpler: 14 days, full refund, no questions asked.

If you need Reading and Writing too, Magoosh covers both sections and Sigma Prep is Math only.

As of October 2026 Magoosh lists Premium at $49 a month and Premium with On-Demand Classes at $149 a month, with a discount for paying annually, a 7-day free trial and a 7-day money-back guarantee.
