Looking for a Princeton Review SAT alternative for Math? The short answer: Sigma Prep is $49 a month, month to month, instead of $299 paid up front for a year, and it has 24 full-length Math tests that mirror the official Bluebook tests (Princeton Review Self-Paced has 5), 7,300+ Math questions, and a video solution on every question. Princeton Review covers both sections and offers live classes; Sigma Prep is Math only and self-paced. Prices below are as of October 2026, from each company's own site.

Sigma Prep is ours, so weigh that. We have tried to say where Princeton Review is the better fit.

When Princeton Review is the better choice

If you need both sections, want live classes with a teacher, or want a well-known brand with structured lessons from start to finish, Princeton Review does all of that and we do not. Its live 1400+ course (36+ hours of instruction, 9 practice tests) suits a student who needs a class schedule to stay on track.

When Sigma Prep is the better choice

If Math is the section holding you back, you get much more Math practice, and you only pay for the months you prep. Most students prep for one to three months, not a year. Five practice tests go fast; 24 that mirror the official ones question for question mean every retake is a fresh measurement. Every question has a video, and after each test you get practice built from the skills you missed.

The Princeton Review guarantees

Princeton Review offers two, and both come with conditions:

  • Better score or your money back: you have to meet their eligibility requirements, which for the live 1400+ course include attending all 36 hours, completing the required practice tests and homework, taking the official SAT by the recommended date and submitting your score report within 60 days.
  • Satisfaction (free repeat): repeat the program once, but using it disqualifies you from the money-back guarantee, now and on future SAT purchases.
  • Outside the guarantees, Self-Paced refunds are only available within 7 days of enrolling.

Ours is simpler: 14 days, full refund, no questions asked.

Common Questions

If Math is your weak section and you have a few months, Sigma Prep is $49 a month instead of $299 up front, with 24 full-length Math tests mirroring the official Bluebook tests (Princeton Review Self-Paced has 5), 7,300+ Math questions and a video on every question. Princeton Review covers both sections and has live classes; Sigma Prep is Math only and self-paced.

As of October 2026 SAT Self-Paced is $299 for 365 days of access, and the SAT and ACT Self-Paced bundle is $499. The 1400+ course with 36+ hours of live instruction and the tutoring packages are priced separately.

For Self-Paced, a full refund only if you withdraw within 7 days of enrolling; none after that. The better-score guarantee and the free-repeat satisfaction guarantee each come with eligibility rules, and using the repeat cancels the money-back guarantee.
