DeltaMath vs Kuta Software vs Sigma Prep

These get compared as if they are rivals, and mostly they are not. DeltaMath assigns practice online and marks it for you. Kuta prints paper. The first thing to settle is which of those you actually want this week, because that decides the tool.

When DeltaMath is the right answer

If your students have devices and you want the grading done, use DeltaMath. The free tier gives unlimited assignments, unlimited practice, automatic grading, and detailed data on who spent how long on what. That is a lot to get for nothing, and neither Kuta nor we do any of it.

The catch is that it is built around screens. Getting a DeltaMath assignment onto paper needs Print to PDF, which their own page lists under INTEGRAL, the district license. If you are a teacher wanting a printable and your school has not bought that tier, DeltaMath is not the tool for the job.

When you want paper

Paper still wins for a lot of lessons: a warm-up, a sub plan, a no-devices day, a test, a class where half the laptops are flat. Then the choice is between Kuta and something free.

Kuta is good software and has more topics than we do. It also costs money, installs on a machine you may not be allowed to install on, and its free tier is a few hundred fixed PDFs rather than a generator. We do the generating part free in a browser tab, with an answer key, and every answer checked by machine before it is published.

The honest limit on our side: fewer topics than Kuta, for now.

Using more than one

Most teachers we have spoken to do not pick one. DeltaMath for homework because it marks itself, a printable for the lesson itself. Those are different jobs and it is reasonable to use a different tool for each.

There is also a longer comparison with Kuta on its own.
