Sigma Prep Worksheets MCP Server

What it does

The server lets an assistant find the right topic among the worksheets on this site (Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, Precalculus, Calculus, Statistics) and make a fresh version of it with the difficulty and number of problems you want. Every call can give new problems, so each class period can get its own sheet. The PDFs are the same ones the site prints, with every answer checked by computer.

Get a free API key (optional)

The server works without a key. A key gives you your own hourly allowance, instead of sharing one with everyone on your network (a whole school, say). It is free and unlocks nothing else.

Send it with every request as the header Authorization: Bearer <key>. A key that is wrong or revoked is refused, so if you see "Invalid API key", fix the key or remove the header.

We only check that the email looks valid; it is not stored.

Tools

search_worksheets

Finds worksheet topics that match a request. Returns each topic's id, title, courses, the levels it offers, its question types and a link to its page.

• query (required): what the worksheet is about, e.g. "factoring trinomials" or "law of sines".
• course (optional): a course name to narrow the search, e.g. "Algebra 2".

create_worksheet

Makes a worksheet and returns two PDF links, one without and one with the answer key, plus a link to the topic's page for more options.

• topic (required): the topic id from search_worksheets, e.g. "factoring-trinomials".
• levels (optional): any of easy, medium, hard.
• count (optional): number of problems, 1 to 40. Defaults to 20.
• questionTypes (optional): question type ids from search_worksheets, to narrow the sheet.
• version (optional): a version number, to get the same sheet again.

An example

You ask: "Make me a 15-question worksheet on solving quadratics by factoring, medium difficulty, with an answer key."

The assistant searches for the topic, makes the sheet, and replies with two links: the worksheet to hand out and the copy with answers. Ask again for a different version with new numbers.

How to add it

• ChatGPT: add a custom connector (app) and paste the server URL. Choose no authentication.
• Claude: add a custom connector and paste the server URL.
• Any other MCP client: add a remote server using streamable HTTP with the URL https://www.sigmaprep.io/api/mcp and no authentication.

Menu names change from time to time; look for "custom connector" or "remote MCP server" in your client's settings.

Fair use

The server is free and meant for teachers, tutors, students and parents making worksheets for real classes. To keep it free for everyone, there are limits:

• About 20 new worksheets and 120 searches per hour from one connection, or per API key if you use one.
• A daily limit on PDFs downloaded from one connection, well above what a class needs.
• When the whole site is very busy, you may be asked to try again in a few minutes.
